The problem that new car detailing businesses face is that they don’t have a good resource for new customers. What they don’t realize is they have access to most of the people selling their cars in their city, for free, instantly. Where is this place? Craigslist.

Craigslist is now the busiest marketplace for selling used cars in the world. It’s free, easy to search, and there is a massive inventory of cars for sale by owners and dealers there. Also on Craigslist is an automotive services section that receives a lot of traffic.

If you can post a professional looking advertisement they’re introducing yourself, your services, and your prices, you’re guaranteed to get some phone calls and e-mails. What’s important is that you provide specific reasons why your car detailing service is better than the others on Craigslist. Most detailers there emphasize their low prices, but this approach is flawed. The problem with selling on price alone is that the customer perceives your work to be of lesser quality.

Instead, emphasize the quality of your service. Describe your detailing process in detail. Write a short biography about your professional car detailing experience. Specifically name the equipment that you own and the products that you use.

And, if you have photos of your work, displaying these photos is extremely influential. Don’t just show photos of your finished work. Instead, show before and after photos of the common issues like dirty interiors and oxidized paint that someone selling their car is looking for professional help with.

Car dealers will contact you to, as they spend a lot of time each day on Craigslist. Although you may not want all of their business, there are some very good car dealers that pay good rates and give steady business. It’s always good to have some reliable business that you can count on to cover your costs each month.

So if you are a new car detailing business and looking for more work, post an ad on Craigslist as often as possible. First look at your competition’s ads on Craigslist, and see how you can improve on their message and get more business. Often it’s just a matter of producing a more professional presentation with more details and more photos of your services. You will find that a lot of customers are looking for a more trustworthy car detailer and not just the cheapest option on Craigslist.

Used car dealers may be the perfect place to buy your teen their first car. There is no greater excitement for a teen than purchasing their first cool ride.

I can remember back to when I was 16 and passed my driver’s test to get my license. I was so excited and felt that I was much cooler than my friends who couldn’t yet drive on their own. I proudly showed off that driver’s license around school.

And, then when I got to take all my friends for a ride the first time… it was absolutely thrilling – independence and freedom was mine!

Ah, but I had to have everyone pile into my dad’s baby blue, wood-grained station wagon – that wasn’t so cool. I still remember that unforgettable day when dad suggested we go look for my first set of wheels.

Now, we are talking excitement and thrill!

I remember him helping me scour through the papers to purchase a used vehicle through a private party. We would set appointments to go see the car, running all over town.

I would find a car that was really cool looking, but he would feel the engine wasn’t solid or that the car had too many miles on it for the price the seller was asking. Each time, my heart sank thinking I would never find the great looking car that could stand the test of my father.

I’m happy to say eventually we did find the perfect first car – a ’68 Chevy Chevelle. But, I can still remember that this process of going through a private owner was just too long and stressful for me to endure.

I wished there was a quicker way.

Well, now in my late 40′s, I know there is a better way!

There are used car dealers where you can find a quality used car for your teen without requiring so much patience from your new driver.

There are auto dealers that have auto consultants that will work with you to find that exact car your teen is looking for. You simply visit the dealership and speak with the consultant, they will listen to what it is you are looking for and do all they can to put your teen into their first ride.

Because the cars are inspected for safety you can feel safe that your teen is riding in a car that will be safe for him or her. In addition, the car will be inspected for prior damage that could have happened and may cause your teen expensive repairs down the road.

With making one stop, your teen could discover a car that suits that “cool” factor as well as make Dad happy that he isn’t getting ripped off by buying a “nothing-but-trouble” vehicle.

For most car owners, their car is an investment as well as a source of pride and joy. You don’t want to drive a vehicle that performs poorly and looks dirty, that’s why you want to make sure that you pick only the best car detailing specialists to take care of it. At the same time, an automobile detailing job can cost you a significant sum, so you want to get your money’s worth in terms of cleaning quality.

With so many detailing specialists and car cleaning technologies to choose from, it can be pretty difficult for you to assess whether or not the specialist you chose can deliver on his words and give your car the cleaning it deserves. After all, it pays to have a lasting relationship with one trusted detailer instead of shopping for a new one every time you are dissatisfied with the results of the job.

As a car owner, it’s important for you to know just what car detailing means and what it can do for your vehicle. It’s definitely not the same as the typical wash you give your vehicle in the driveway every weekend, nor is it simply vacuuming the interior of your car to get rid of the dust and dirt. Bringing your car over to an automobile detailing facility means giving your car a thorough rejuvenation to make it squeaky clean and restore its showroom shine.

To find out if your car detailing specialist is the right man for the job, you can ask him these five all-important questions:

1. How much does automobile detailing cost and what’s included in the package? For most car owners, cost is the number one concern that will tip the scales in favor of one detailer or another. You might be paying a modest fee at one detail shop, but the services might fall short of what your car really needs. Read the fine print and find out exactly what it is that you are paying for.

2. What cleaning method is best for my car? Different cars require different cleaning techniques, but sometimes it’s also up to the car owner to choose which one he would like to avail of. Some car owners are also concerned about whether the car cleaning service they get is eco-friendly and chemical-free.

3. Do you offer mobile detailing? Why bring your car to the detailer when you can have it serviced right in the comfort of your own home? Some specialists offer mobile detailing services to provide their customers convenience and peace of mind, as the latter can watch their car getting professionally cleaned.

4. How long do the effects of the treatment last? You don’t want to pay for a detailing service today and have to bring it back for a touch-up next week. The detailer you should choose should be one who offers top-notch and long-lasting clean for your car. The exterior should be waxed, sealed and preserved to maintain that high-class shine for a long time, while the interior should be free of dust and unpleasant odors.

5. Do you offer any kind of warranty? It’s not unheard of for detailers to commit technical mistakes during a cleaning job and accidentally damage the car’s finish or rip the carpeting. The most thorough and professional detailers offer warranty for their services to assure customers that they will provide the expected results.
